Lee sites the music around his house whilst growing up as a key aspect to his innate passion for it. From around the age of 7 he choose to listen to dance music often mix-tapes recorded from a Mum's friends nightclub. It wasn't until three years later that he discovered the art of putting two records together and decided he'd like to have a go. After a wait of a further two years Lee got his first set of turntables and began to mix. House music typical of the en vogue style in '98. A chance meeting at a Bus Stop with a DJ who was playing on the circuit at the time took Lee's interest to a new sub-genre. "Stevie D" took Lee on his first record shopping trip to London, an event that cemented his love for finding new sounds. Steve mixed US Garage, a sound that at the time (Pre Hed-Kandi) was underground and thriving in London's clubs & bars.
During his teens, whilst listening to a variety of genre's from as Motown to Punk Rock & IDM, Lee began to mix Garage with a friend who had recently purchased some 1210's however still continued to purchase House music, with French being the preferred sound. After a year or so of late night mixing, house parties and wobbly decks Lee moved to Thorpe Bay. It was during his time employed by his Uncle he was introduced to Electronica by a colleague.
Time wore on with just Bedroom Dj'ing until he was back in Chelmsford and reacquainted with an old School friend Rohith. Ro showed Lee some of the Techno and Minimal tracks he had been listening to. It was at this point that reignited his flame and zest to play music to people. After meeting at a Daft Punk concert on '07, Lee was introduced to LS Promoter Antony Difrancesco. They got on well and Lee was given a set at the notorious venue Public Life warming up for Max Cooper. Lee has become a resident for Lost Souls keeping the Saturday faithful dancing. He recalls some of his best moments in the toilet mixing back-to-back with Lepsy.
Hume spent the summer of '08 in Ibiza and was lucky enough to play at The Zoo Project, one of the island's sickest parties. He took great enjoyment from the variety of music he was able to absorb whilst taking onboard some of the promoting and organization skills on display. Underground was Lee's favorite venue of the summer as it's musical policy and the ethos running the venue were aligned with his own.
Expect his musical passion to keep flowing and a positive aural output.
